Meet Our Founder
Meet Dr. Gaurav Sharma: A Trailblazer in Research
From a spark in kindergarten to a blazing trail in scientific research, Dr. Gaurav Sharma has dedicated his life to unraveling the mysteries of science. Based in Cary, NC, his journey began at the tender age of five when he attended his first scientific conference alongside his father. That experience lit a fire within him—a passion for discovery that would shape his future.
Driven by curiosity and fueled by discipline, Dr. Sharma earned his Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Miami under the guidance of Dr. Rajeev Prabhakar, diving deep into molecular simulations and quantum chemistry. He later honed his research skills at Michigan State University, working with renowned Professor Dr. Kenneth Merz, where he embraced the belief that “innovation thrives solely within a peaceful mind.”
With 30 peer-reviewed publications and over 40 national and international presentations, Dr. Sharma's contributions span the frontiers of drug design, molecular dynamics, and bioinformatics. His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including:
-
🏆 Dean’s Academic Year Dissertation Award
-
🔬 Sam and Clara Schreiber Chemistry Research Fellowship
-
🎓 Max and Peggy Kriloff Student Scholarship
Yet, it’s not just research that drives him—it’s the joy of teaching. An inspiring mentor to many, Dr. Sharma received the Best Teacher Award during his doctoral program, a reflection of his deep commitment to shaping the next generation of scientists.
Whether he’s presenting cutting-edge research at conferences or guiding students through their first experiments, Dr. Sharma embodies the spirit of scientific excellence and mentorship.
